Apples By Accident

"But I rejoiced in the Lord greatly that now at last your care for me has flourished again..."

People try to say over and over, "my God shall supply all my needs according to his riches in glory..."

Because "You can have what you say"

However this is not the right main focus.

It would be like a gardening club who only talked and talked about how to harvest apples, but never discuss or research how to properly water or trim their apple trees.

"Yes, someday there will be apples. Glory to God, so many apples. Apples apples!"

But if they spend all that time and focus on taking care of their apple tree, then they will wake up one morning with apples whether they want them or not. Even if they go into a coma from a tractor mishap and wake up a month later, they'll have a big pile of apples waiting for them.

Most of the whole "confessing and praying for my stuff" prayer should be shifted to "confessing and praying that I know how to give to others and grow in my fruit of the spirit."

Then "goodness and mercy will hunt them down all the days of their life."

Words and speaking are indeed powerful, but they can be used for a lot bigger things than getting a nice car. They are powerful weapons against sin and ignorance.

People get angry at Prosperity Teachers because they tallk about money too much. This is a valid complaint. But unfortunately, because teachers who teach about "saying words to get stuff" only focus on money and healing, the church at large has not realized that the main purpose of "speaking to get stuff" is to go get holiness and power to help the world.

The same churches that complain about the sins of greedy TV preachers have no problem with their own filthy mouths that spew mediocrity and failure and a wimpy "I hope I can just get by" attitude all day long. The first sin that is listed as being banned from heaven is being a coward.

The divine power of words was given to us so we could talk ourselves into champions who never back down, champions who are so fearless and committed to the compassionate tears of heaven that the sorry little woes of this world are a dim echo before their march. As Paul said, "to live is nothing but Christ, and to die would be gain."

Words can bring holiness to our lives and wisdom to our path. And when we have grown to that place where we are focused and weeping over the needs of others and their foolish darkness, we won't have to beg and confess and confess to get our own needs. We can just reach right over to the apple tree and pluck something down.
