Wisdom Lives With the Humble

With the humble is wisdom.

The Kingdom of God is One

We are all members of one another.

Humility is not about always putting yourself down, any more than it is about puffing yourself up.

Because in both cases, the focus is still on YOU. On your own little self, your own little world, whether you treat yourself horribly or really well.

Humility is just looking at how your own tiny life is inside of all the other precious lives around you, looking at the flow of history and all the giant struggles and courage of those before, and then seeing where you are in all of it. Not as just little old you, but as a part of what is much greater and deeper in importance.

The problem with false humility is that it looks so good, and so holy, even like something you should feel obligated to be, but in reality it's totally dishonest. False humility is still having extreme tunnel vision, and being obsessed with self, although in a sneakier way than wearing expensive clothes. The false humility person wears flashy clothes, but they are just fake attitudes to get attention and look spiritual and "feel" good about their SELF. It's all just pretty feelings, that seem very spiritual, but are actually poisonous.

When people talk about evil temptations, and maybe feelings that would draw someone to them, they think about perhaps wine, and feeling like you want that buzz from it. But the fact is that some feelings that seem very spiritual and even noble can also be just fleshly feelings of a bad temptation, as much as the high a junkie gets from that first sniff of crack. The truth of God is not based on feelings, positive or negative.

Scriptures even talk about this, saying that being really severe to the body "has an appearance of wisdom, but has no value against selfish indulgence". The pharisees who killed Jesus would turn up their noses at the dirty thought of getting drunk or some other sinful things, but they were more than drunk on the feelings of pride and vengeance and deception, which was more intoxicating than any wine. Their "spirituality" was just the same old childish greed as the tax collectors they hated, but in a sneakier way.

When you see your own life in the context of all the many many things around it, it's easier to forgive yourself and brush off your own failings and even laugh and be a more playful, fun person because you realize that having a pity party over your mistakes doesn't help anyone but you. Being too serious and somber doesn't do much for others, or matter in the scope of history.

''He who loves his brother walks in the light, and there is nothing in him to make him fall.

He who hates his brother walks through the darkness, and doesn't even know where he's going because the darkness has blinded him."

"Sin speaks to a wicked person inside his heart. He thinks so much of himself that he can't see his own sin clearly, which would make him hate it and get rid of it."

"If the light inside you is darkness, how great will that darknesss be?"

It's all about looking at the right things. When we keep our view on what other people feel and need, then we don't lie about about our own needs and past, we just see them as part of a bigger picture, and so everything takes on greater meaning and something eternal with it.
